Appointments are usually available on the same day so you are advised to telephone the practice at 08.30 to check for availability before coming to the acute illness clinic.
The acute illness clinic is held every morning from 09.00 until 09.45 and in the evening from 17.00 to 17.20 (Friday evenings 17.00 to 18.30). This clinic is for urgent cases and recent presentations only, and not for routine medical attention nor for follow-up of ongoing problems – these should always be by appointment. The clinic is led by a specialist nurse practitioner in the mornings and on Tuesday evenings and by the doctors on the other evenings. At this clinic it is not possible to specify preference for any clinician and time will be more limited than allocated appointment time.
