Prescriptions for patients requiring long-term medication are issued on a computerised repeat prescription slip. To obtain further supplies please indicate clearly the items required and put it in the special box at the reception desk. Alternatively you may send the request with a stamped addressed envelope and we shall send your prescription by post.
Please allow at least 2 working days for the prescription to be issued.
The practice does not accept telephone requests for prescriptions – this is hazardous and entails a considerable risk of errors and omissions. If you lose the slip or are requesting a new drug you may use the printed form available at the reception desk to make the request. This must clearly and accurately indicate the drug name, dose and frequency.
It is recommended that all patients on repeat medication have this reviewed as part of their illness management. In practice this is usually annually for a stable condition but there are exceptions, for example, patients receiving treatment for high blood pressure should have this checked 6-monthly. You may therefore be asked to make a review appointment from time to time.
